Higashi-Koenji's 20000V: Expect raw energy and an intimate, sweaty punk night.
The Show
This Monday at 20000V is going to be a proper kick in the teeth – exactly what you need to shake off the start of the week. Expect the usual passionate crowd, packed in tight, riding every riff and scream. It's a no-frills, all-thrills kind of night; don't expect quiet contemplation here.
The Artists
家族会議, with a name that always makes you wonder what kind of intense "family discussion" they'll be having on stage, usually delivers a raw, driving sound that's impossible to ignore. Sharing the bill, ELISE brings a different kind of edge – maybe a little more melodic, but still with that undeniable underground bite. It's a great pairing for a night of visceral live performance.
The Area
Higashi-Koenji always feels a bit like stepping into a different Tokyo, less polished but full of genuine grit. Before diving into 20000V, grab some yakitori and a chuhai from one of the tiny spots near the station – perfect for fueling up. It’s a neighborhood that truly lives for raw, honest music, making it the perfect home for venues like this.
