About
WEEP formed in Tokyo in 2022 and wasted no time. Within a year they dropped The Attack Before the First Light (April 2023), a three-song debut EP that drew immediate comparisons to Endzweck, NAIAD, Love Is Red, and With Honor. The band writes lyrics exclusively in Japanese â a deliberate choice that amplifies the raw emotional weight of their sound. Credits on the debut list Junpei on lyrics, Narasaki on music, and recording handled by Devu at Devu Recording Studio. The pace has not let up. Another Possibility followed in May 2024, and by March 2025 the band released Total Eclipse â celebrated with a release party at Nakano Moonstep alongside Fatalbond, Schattered, Still Grieving Over, room10.4, and Fuyajo. In early 2026, WEEP appeared on a Power Violence Yokohama bill (a Capitalist Casualties tribute) at El Puente and a show at The Wall with Friends With Boats from Germany. They have since expanded to a five-piece with the addition of guitarist Kakutani and bassist Koyama. Released on Uncertainty Records and distributed via TuneCore Japan, WEEP are building a steady catalog and an active live presence in Tokyo's hardcore circuit. For a band barely three years old, the momentum is real.
