UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH
Obscure late-80s Tokyo thrash-grind skullcrushers, unearthed from a single 1989 demo tape.
About
UNHUMAN SOCIETY DEATH were a short-lived but ferocious Tokyo thrashcore band whose entire known recorded output is a single demo tape from 1989. That tape sat in obscurity for over three decades until F.O.A.D. Records â the Italian label with an obsessive dedication to unearthing Japanese hardcore rarities â tracked down the original studio master tape and pressed it to vinyl in September 2023 as Volume 1 (catalog FOAD 313). The five tracks â Bad Reality, Fine Arts, Constituency, Stay Alert, and Detect The News Insincerity â are a concentrated blast of grind-infused hardcore delivered with that unmistakable Japanese HC energy. Furious blast beats tear through the songs, and the whole thing radiates the same feral intensity as What's the Truth?-era S.O.B., ROSEROSE, GENOA, and SATANIC HELL SLAUGHTER. The F.O.A.D. reissue came in two vinyl variants (diehard mixed blue/yellow limited to 150; black limited to 200) and included a fanzine-style booklet with rare gig flyers, photos, and scans of the original cassette. Almost nothing is documented about the members or the band's lifespan beyond that 1989 session. They are described simply as 'another obscure Japanese thrash gem unearthed' â shortly lived skullcrushers who left one tape and vanished. The reissue ensures they did not vanish completely.
