About

EIEFITS is a Tokyo punk band built from the wreckage of some of the most revered names in Japanese hardcore history. The lineup reads like a hall of fame roll call: vocalist Saho (ex-THE HECK), guitarist T.T. (ex-FORWARD, KGS), bassist Minoru (ex-LIP CREAM, THE COMES, COLORED RICEMEN), and drummer variously listed as Tamazoh (on early releases) and Izumi (of THE SLOWMOTIONS, on later material). Members have also done time in EXTINCT GOVERNMENT and EVANCE. This is not a side project — it is a concentrated distillation of decades of Tokyo punk knowledge. The sound is exactly what that pedigree promises: piercing female vocals over heavy, riff-driven punk that recalls 1980s Japanese milestones like THE COMES and GAS. When it accelerates into hardcore territory, it hits with real force. F.O.A.D. Records, the Italian underground label that has championed them internationally, describes it as 'a sharp punk attack of piercing female vocals over sturdy riff laden momentum built by pounding drums, thunderous bass and tough guitar riffs.' Their debut album 493 was recorded at Noise Room in Tokyo in September 2012 and reissued on cassette by Sorcerer Records (Lyon) in 2020. The full-length Mezame followed in 2018 on F.O.A.D. Records, and their latest LP Thrive (also on F.O.A.D., catalog FOAD 398) ships April 2026 with 15 tracks and a foldout insert. A 7" EP on San Francisco's Prank Records rounds out the discography. EIEFITS keeps the flame lit for a style of punk that Tokyo invented.
